IN ONE SENTENCE - WHAT ARE YOU DOING AT MCR?
We do in stone, I would have told you 25 years ago. We still do, but today we can say with a little pride that we are one of the professionals in Germany who can think of and then manufacture any individual stone space solution for our customers. Fresh design, genuine craftsmanship, state-of-the-art technology and a little more heart and soul - that's what we at MCR are all about.
THAT SOUNDS LIKE DEVELOPMENT. AND ALSO AMBITION.
Logically, there's a certain ambition about me and my whole team. You can't do it without him. At Living Kitchen 2019 we present our first own modular design line for the kitchen - n'Stee. It unites all our skills, our passion and even our ambition. n'Stee is a good example of how we have developed. This is our answer to unique specimen, natural stone and 1a craftsmanship from Germany.
THE FAMOUS QUESTION - WHERE IS THE JOURNEY GOING? HOW DOES MR. WÜRSTL ENVISION THE FUTURE OF MCR?
Faster, higher, further - that's not my point. That's outdated too, I think. It's about looking at what we as MCR can do damn well and doing it better and better. To look beyond one's own nose and break new ground when we as a team feel like it.
ARE THERE CERTAIN TRENDS IN THE INTERIOR SECTOR THAT ARE CURRENTLY EMERGING, THAT ARE PLEASING TO THE EYE?
Room boundaries disappear or are very consciously drawn. This is very exciting to accompany this process and how natural stone can act as a material in interaction with wood, glass and metal. I think that the material composition of contrasts in the interior sector will become even stronger in the coming years, if I may give you a shoulder look at our current discussions with customers.
People want to know where the product comes from, how it is processed and which raw materials have been used. To be honest, that hasn't changed with us in the workshop - that's what our customers, who were looking for the way to MCR, wanted to know 15 years ago. But we also work beyond the masses, our customers have always asked a little more questions than usual.
Together with my team, we make sure that every customer not only comes back happy, but also convinced of us.
